Can you believe it’s Fall, again…actually it is officially at 11:09 p.m. this evening.  I’m not sure about other Towns, but here in Warwick, NY, we kick off the Fall bounty with apple picking and the well-know Applefest!   Now in its 22nd year, Warwick Applefest 2010 will be held Sunday, October 3, 10am – 5pm – Rain or Shine!  Admission is FREE !
Applefest began in 1989 as a simple harvest celebration to support the Warwick Valley Community Center. Named one of the “Top 100 Events” in the country, over 35,000 visitors now attend the one-day event, traveling from neighboring states to experience the extraordinary variety of Warwick’s apples, culture, and entertainment. The festival is produced by the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Warwick Valley Community Center. Festival proceeds benefit these and other local non-profit organizations.

There is nothing like biting into an apple straight from the tree!  Crunchy and juicy.  Whether you like them tart or sweet, take your “pick”!!!  Enjoy a family day – visit the Applefest, then take a ride to one of the many local apple orchards.  You won’t be disappointed!

Realtor Magazine’s latest article tells why it’s a great time to buy.  See what they have to say.  It’s a great time to buy – If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a home but are hesitant to take the plunge because of what the media’s been publishing, Realtor Mag should clear up some of your doubts.  Owning a home is still one of the most rewarding accomplishments one can make.  And just think of what you’re doing for your children with an investment of home ownership.  Someone said the other day, “Have a baby – buy a condo”…If you’re in the position to purchase an investment property, do it!  Hold on to it!  Rent it out for the next several years.  By the time your “baby” is ready for college you’d have enough equity in the property to sell it and pay for their education!  How great would that be!!!

So much to do, so much to see. One more reason to love the place I live.  The Taste of Warwick!!!

The 2010 Taste of Warwick is coming up! The event will be held on September 14, 2010 between 6 pm and 9 pm EST.

This is your chance to sample some of most amazing dishes the chefs of the Warwick Valley have to offer.

The Taste of Warwick event is an annual event featuring fine food and drink that any fine dining connoisseur will not want to miss. The dishes feature ingredients that are directly from the local farms of the Warwick Valley. This insures the freshest and most nutritious ingredients are in every dish.

Once again, the event will be held this year on the grounds of the Warwick Valley Winery. The Winery is recognized nationally for both its award wining hard ciders and its recently added line of fruit brandies. The manicured grounds are an ideal setting for the this grand celebration of the bountiful harvest offered by the natural fertility of our valley’s soil and the amazing talent of some of the metropolitan area’s greatest chefs.

So put on your Cocktail attire and join us for this formal dining experience.

Please reserve your tickets today by calling (845) 986-2720. This is an event you will not want to miss!

Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce

It certainly is a gorgeous day here in Warwick today!  Perfect for taking some time to visit the Village’s cafes, restaurants, and shops.  Take time to enjoy a stroll, treat yourself to a favorite drink or ice cream, and a meal at one of our many restaurants.  Then be sure to check out the music at the Albert Wisner Library today or Coquitos tonight as part of the Jazz Fest!  Check out the website for more info.  An event not to be missed.  I feel so fortunate to live in an area with access to such great talent and opportunities to be able listen to enjoy the music.  Enjoy!!!   http://www.warwickvalleyjazzfest.com

Sharing Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty’s take on positive news about the real estate market.  Positive Angles

As this is all new to me, I’ve decided it’s time to try “blogging”.  As a Realtor, what does one blog about?  If you read today’s headlines about real estate, the future of real estate seems so grim…not good news to share.  But no matter what situation the market is currently in, people need to live somewhere and have a roof over their heads.  Whether they’re considering a purchase, need to rent, or would like to build new, people are still thinking about their individual real estate needs.  Interest rates are at an all-time low and home prices are down.  Is it really as grim as the media makes it sound?  I don’t think so.  If you’ve been waiting to make a move and have the “let’s wait and see” attitude, maybe you should start thinking about it more seriously.  Get off the fence, talk with your bank, mortgage rep, financial adviser, see what your qualifications are and go out and look for the home of your dreams.
